Clerk & Comptroller Sharon R. Bock, Esq., was first elected in November 2004 and is now in her fourth four-year term. She is a tireless advocate for innovation, public access, transparency and technology to promote continuous government improvement and efficiency in Palm Beach County.
The Clerk & Comptroller, Palm Beach County serves as the Constitutional Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Auditor, Clerk of the Circuit Court, County Recorder and Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners. Clerk Bock administers a $74.4 million annual operating budget and oversees nearly 700 employees in seven locations.
Clerk Bock brings to her position nearly 25 years of experience in the private sector as a financial consultant, real estate lawyer, title company owner and corporate manager. She joined the Clerk’s office in 1998 as Chief Deputy.
Her awards and honors include Member of the Year from the National Guardianship Association, Civic Leader of the Year from the American Jewish Congress, the Joanne Otto Distinguished Service Award from the National Adult Protective Services Association, and one of the Top 20 Women in Law from the Daily Business Review.
Under her leadership, the Clerk’s office has also received national awards including the Harvard Ash Center’s 2018 Innovations in Government, which recognized the “Court Compliance Program” as a Top 25 Program in the U.S., while CIO Magazine recognized her office with its Digital Edge 50 award for it groundbreaking use of Artificial Intelligence in the processing of court documents.
