Woman Lawyer of the Year

Ori Silver is a first generation American and a lifelong Palm Beach County resident.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and went on to attend University of Florida Levin College of Law.  After law school, Judge Silver returned to South Florida where she worked as a prosecutor in the Office of the State Attorney of the 17th Judicial Circuit for over 20 years.  At the State Attorney Office, Judge Silver served in the county court trial unit, felony trial unit, specialized division of domestic violence unit, and in the specialized elder abuse unit.  She also created and ran the Elder Task Force.  The task force is a multi- agency working group that puts on police and community trainings, organized unannounced nursing home spot checks, and put on various community outreach programs.  Governor DeSantis appointed Judge Silver to the to the Palm Beach County bench in December of 2021, and, since then, she has served in the criminal and civil divisions.

Judge Silver enjoys being active in the community and is a dedicated member of our Board. She is also involved in the South Palm Beach County Bar Association, Florida Bar committees, Craig S. Barnard Inns of Court, and other voluntary bar and community organizations.  In her free time, Judge Silver loves to spend time with her husband and her three boys.  Every weekend you can find Judge Silver either at the tennis courts or soccer fields watching her boys compete. 

Judge Silver embodies the essence of the Woman Lawyer of the Year Award and graciously accepted this award on May 11, 2023.
