Merryl S. Haber

Merryl S. Haber obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from George Washington University where she was on the Dean’s List and a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society. She attended Whittier Law School in California and received her Juris Doctorate in 1992. She participated in Moot Court and the Homeless Advocacy Project and was a law clerk throughout law school.

After being admitted to the California Bar in 1992, Merryl practiced multi-party construction defect defense litigation as a Senior Associate at Koletsky, Mancini and Feldman in Los Angeles. Merryl was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995. She moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where she has lived since 1996. She joined Fertig & Gramling, an insurance defense firm in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1996, handling first and third party claims in general liability, fraud defense, and maritime cases. In January 2010, Merryl joined Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC, a Plaintiff’s personal injury firm. In May 2014, Merryl joined the Law Offices of Michael W. Carroll as House Counsel for Progressive Insurance where she handles cases from Miami – Dade County to Indian River County. Merryl is a member of the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern districts of Florida. She is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Merryl is very active in the Boca Raton community, including being a former member of the Student Advisory Council and Parent Teacher Organization at Addison Mizner Elementary School and Omni Middle School. She volunteers at American Heritage High School in Delray/Boca for the Pre-law Society. She is a Justice Teaching volunteer and a former Jr. Achievement volunteer. Merryl sat on the Board of Directors of the Adolph and Rose Levis JCC. She was co-chair of the Civil Practice Committee of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. She is a “Habitat for Humanity” and Legal Aid volunteer. Merryl has been a member of SPBC FAWL since 2010 where she has held three Board positions.
