Ellen was sworn into the Florida Bar in 1987 and just celebrated her 35th anniversary practicing law in 2022. Ellen started her career as a law clerk at a seven attorney law firm that would eventually grow to over 250 asttorneys and become the law firm widely known as Adorno & Yoss. Ellen eventually became a partner and worked at Adorno & Yoss for nearly 20 years.
In 2004, Ellen achieved Board Certification by The Florida Bar in Labor & Employment Law and is now one of only 177 lawyers in the State to achieve this distinction. Ellen has been named “Leader in the Law” by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, “Top Attorney in Florida” by both The Wall Street Journal and The American Registry, “Florida Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters, “Leader in Law” by Lifestyle Media Group, “Florida Attorney of the Year – Employment Law” by Legal Elite, “Attorney to Watch” by Attorney at Law Magazine, “Top Attorney” by Palm Beach Illustrated, “Top Lawyers” by The Boca Raton Observer, and “America’s Most Honored Lawyers” by The American Registry.
Since moving to Boca Raton over 20 years ago, Ellen has been an active member of the South Palm Beach County legal community. Ellen is a long-standing member and past president of our own South Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyer; and Ellen served as the President of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. Ellen also serves as the Chair of The Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee 15-C and is a member of the Florida Bar’s Labor & Employment Certification Committee where she participates in writing the section’s board certification exam each year.
Ellen reconnected with her dear friend Eric Assouline and began been heading the labor & employment department of Assouline & Berlowe in 2012. Ellen focuses her practice exclusively on labor and employment law counseling and litigation.
Ellen has been happily married to Mark for 30 years, and they have two wonderful children – Zachary and Jillian who are living in New York.
